Our Story

Founded by teachers, for children.

Little Wonders Academy was started in 2009 by a group of early childhood educators who were tired of cookie-cutter classrooms. We built the school we always wished existed: warm, rigorous, and radically child-centred. Every decision — from furniture height to nap schedules — is made with the child's point of view first.

Play is learning

Unstructured and guided play is the primary mode of learning for children under six. We protect this time fiercely from academic pressure.

Relationships first

A secure attachment to a trusted adult is the foundation all learning rests on. Our low ratios ensure no child is invisible.

The child as expert

Children are competent, curious, and capable. We observe before we intervene, and follow their lead before imposing ours.

Families are co-educators. We involve parents not as observers but as active partners in their child's learning story.
